Jamie Blackley
Jamie Blackley is a British actor and voice actor, known for his roles across film, television and video-games ranging from intimate romantic dramas to high-stakes historical epics and interactive storytelling
Blackley’s formal training began early, attending the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School where he cultivated skills in acting, singing and performance. He later supplemented this with further training at the D&B School of Performing Arts in Croydon, nurturing his theatrical and musical inclinations before electing to dive directly into professional work as soon as early opportunities emerged.
His professional career launched on stage, debuting in 2009 as Hanschen in the London production of the rock musical Spring Awakening (later transferring to the West End), followed by a turn as George Harrison in the musical play Backbeat at Glasgow’s Citizens Theatre in 2010.
Transitioning to screen, Blackley made early TV and film appearances in a string of British and international productions. His first credited work includes roles in episodes of shows like Casualty, Doctors and Misfits. In film, he appeared in productions such as Snow White and the Huntsman, then moved on to more substantive roles notably as Adam Wilde in the young-adult romance drama If I Stay.
As his career developed, Blackley expanded his range and took on more complex supporting roles in the likes of The Fifth Estate and Irrational Man. On television, he delivered compelling performances in period and historical dramas such as playing Freddie Hamilton in the World War II-era series The Halcyon and, more recently, as Eardwulf in season 4 of the historical epic The Last Kingdom.
In addition to screen work, Blackley has also made his mark in voice-acting for video games, providing voices for multiple characters in the supernatural action-RPG Vampyr and notably voicing the lead character Sir De Sardet in the fantasy-RPG GreedFall, a role he reprised in the game’s 2021 expansion.
