George Webster

George Webster is an English actor, writer and director known for his work across film and television, including standout roles in Versailles and The Doll Factory. Beyond his on-screen career, he is also an active stand-up comedian and stage host.

Webster’s creative life began early: as a child he built intricate storylines and worlds using action figures, a habit that naturally evolved into a passion for filmmaking and storytelling. Forgoing the traditional drama-school route, he taught himself the craft and, in his early twenties, independently funded and directed his first feature-length film, a passion project shot over two weeks on a modest Kickstarter budget.

His screen career took shape in the early 2010s with supporting roles in short films and independent features. His first major breakthrough came in 2015 when he was cast as Milo in the sci-fi comedy-drama miniseries Tripped, a role that highlighted both his comedic instincts and his versatility across genres. He went on to take on increasingly substantial work, notably portraying William of Orange in the popular historical drama Versailles, and has since navigated an array of genres spanning crime drama, period pieces and contemporary thrillers.

In 2023, Webster gained renewed visibility with his starring role as Louis Frost in The Doll Factory, a dramatic miniseries that introduced him to a wider international audience. Alongside his acting career, he continues to pursue his creative interests behind the camera, writing and directing short films that explore stories and themes distinct from his on-screen roles.
