Danielle Galligan
Danielle Galligan is an Irish actor, writer and theatre-maker whose passion for storytelling has seen her make her mark across television, film and stage. Galligan is best known for her breakout role as Nina Zenik in the hit Netflix fantasy series Shadow and Bone, based on the internationally bestselling Grishaverse novels by Leigh Bardugo.
A graduate of The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin, Galligan is also a seasoned stage performer and theatre collaborator. She has worked with major Irish companies including Rough Magic, The Abbey Theatre and Druid, and is a co-founder of Chaos Factory, a multidisciplinary theatre collective exploring experimental forms of storytelling. Whether on stage, screen or in the writing room, Danielle Galligan continues to draw in audiences with her artistry, depth and fearless creativity.
Her on-screen credits also include Game of Thrones, Lakelands, Kin, Krypton and The Great, where she showcased her range across genres from historical epic to indie coming-of-age drama.
Galligan has also portrayed fan-favourite Nina Zenik in Netflix’s Shadow and Bone, as Mallory Markum in Obituary. Most recently, she has appeared as Claire Walsh in The Walsh Sisters and Lady Olivia Hedges in Netflix’s House of Guinness.
