Theo Nate
Theo Nate is an English actor known for his work across television, recognised best for his role as the young Laenor Velaryon in the acclaimed HBO fantasy series House of the Dragon. He is also known for his television debut in the BBC anthology drama Time and for his later appearance as Ando in the BBC crime drama This City Is Ours.
After studying acting at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Nate graduated in 2020 and began building his career in television. His first screen role came in the BBC drama Time, where he appeared as a friend of Stevie in the opening episode of the series.
Nate gained widespread recognition in 2022 when he was cast as the teenage Laenor Velaryon in House of the Dragon. Set generations before the events of Game of Thrones, the series follows the Targaryen civil war and the struggle for succession to the Iron Throne. Nate appeared in two episodes of the first season, portraying Laenor during his younger years.
His performance as Laenor brought Nate international attention, with the character becoming a notable part of the series’ exploration of identity, family and power within the Targaryen dynasty.
Continuing to expand his television work, Nate appeared in the BBC One crime drama This City Is Ours in 2025, playing the role of Ando. The series, set in Liverpool, follows a family and criminal organisation whose world begins to unravel as control of the city’s drug trade comes under threat. Theo will return for the second season of This City Is Ours in 2026, with an expanded role.
